Breaking News: the Barbarians VS England international rugby match canceled after many players breached the COVID-19 quarantine rules RFU (Rugby Football Union) said in a statement on Friday.
Several Barbarian players have left their hotel rooms without the permission of the organizers this week and asked the Rugby Football Union to conduct a review to make sure that the game can be played securely.
The RFU said the decision to continue violating the COVID-19 protocols left them no choice but to cancel the game.
This is part of an ongoing investigation of the violation of the Covid Code of Conduct that was held on October 21. RFU today opened a previous unrevealed breach that occurred on October 20, when several barbarians left the hotels without the permission of the organizers and did not inform their whereabouts, said The RFU in the statement.
The Rugby Football Union that the player left Covid's safe environment on 20 October, without isolating from other members of the team when returning, which led to the destruction of the bubble environment and the existence of Covid outside the bubble. Individuals spread the potential risks to everyone in the barbarian team and the organization.
The RFU chief Bill Sweeney said that he was upset by the match cancellation, however, our main concerns to protect the health and safety of the England team and all other teams who will battle in the Autumn.
Further, he said that we were extremely disappointed that because of the few barbarian player's actions so we don’t feel that it is safe to continue the game.
The Barbarians sadly said that they are disappointed with the actions of players who broke the Covid-19 protocols.
This weekend, the Eddie Jones England team looks forward to getting a few game time in the Twickenham, before the Six Nations final will take place on 31st October in Italy.
